Try this deliciously healthy oatmeal to start your day out right. It contains essential omega-3 fats to keep your brain sharp and your skin looking great, and cholesterol-lowering oatmeal to keep your heart health in check.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups evaporated skim milk
1 cup water
3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ cup ground flax seed
1 cup quick oats
1 cup cored, chopped cooking apples (peel on)
¼ cup raisins or diced dates
¼ cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Makes 8 servings
Spray a slow cooker with butter-flavored cooking spray. Pour evaporated milk and water into the prepared container. Stir in Brown Sugar, and Cinnamon. Add oats, apples, raisins, and walnuts. Mix well to combine. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Mix well before serving. Enjoy as is or serve with skim milk.
