Here is an easy and healthy dip that can be whipped together in a pinch if you have some unexpected visitors during the holidays.
1 can chickpeas
2 tablespoons tahini (sesame butter)
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh squeezed lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
2 fresh jalapeno peppers (seeds removed, unless you like it spicy)
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend for a couple minutes until smooth. This recipe stores well in refrigerator, so make double the amount to save time over the holidays. Serve with whole grain crackers or bread and fresh veggies.
