The Active Living Program
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have taken the first step to a healthier you!!!
The aim of the Active Living Program is to promote a healthier more active lifestyle that is easily understood. Becoming more active does not require a gym membership or expensive equipment, a pair of athletic shoes and some motivation will get you on your way to become a healthier more active person. Many people are living with joint and muscle pain everyday which limits them from doing the activities they love. For some, gardening was an enjoyable hobby and now with joint and muscle pain, it is more of a chore. The Active Living Program along side with the head sponsor ‘SierraSil’ want to turn those chores back into hobbies.

The ALP team has designed a 30 minute interactive seminar that provides individuals with a 3-step process to healthier, more active lifestyle. The seminar starts with nutritional information and advice by Nutritionist, Sarah Holvik, with a large portion focused on foods with natural anti-inflammatory properties that promote optimal health and prevent chronic disease. The next step is the active portion, where Kinesiologist, Michelle Quintana, takes you through the ‘Full Body Flow’ routine, which is designed to get people moving through full range of motion exercises. Sarah then moves to the third and final step, the importance of natural supplements in our daily diets to reach our health goals.
The ALP travels to all community adult day centres, senior organizations and associations, as well holds larger seminars to accommodate the public. There is a minimum of 20 attendees per seminar in order to meet sponsor criteria.
The program would like to thank our sponsors 'SierraSil Health Inc.' and 'Nordic Naturals' for their continued support in helping make our goals possible.
